JMIC Strengthens Global Network with New Members from China and Africa, Enhancing Advocacy for the Business Events Industr

The Joint Meetings Industry Council (JMIC), the leading global body representing the meetings and events industry, has welcomed two new members: the China Business Event Industry Committee (CBEIC) and the Southern African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI). These strategic additions bolster JMIC’s international network and enhance its advocacy for the business events sector.

Zeng Yafei, Chairman of CBEIC, expressed enthusiasm about joining JMIC, highlighting shared goals between the two organizations. “JMIC and CBEIC share the same objectives of promoting the business events industry globally. We aim to bring China’s wisdom to the international stage and believe that the business events industry plays a crucial role in global development,” Yafei remarked.

Meanwhile, SAACI’s inclusion signifies a notable expansion in Africa. Jaques Fouché, National Chairperson of SAACI, stated, “This membership allows our members to engage with a global network of industry leaders. It is a milestone for Southern Africa, positioning our region at the forefront of the global events industry.”

JMIC President James Rees welcomed the new members, emphasizing the value they bring: “We are delighted to welcome both CBEIC and SAACI. Their perspectives strengthen JMIC’s global voice in advocating for business events as key drivers of economic, social, and cultural development.”

The addition of these organizations amplifies JMIC’s influence across two dynamic regions—Asia and Africa. With these partnerships, JMIC continues to support the global meetings and events industry, ensuring diverse representation and fostering collaboration among industry stakeholders worldwide.
